Parallels of Esteem

Selfies and self-esteem was the motivation for this workshop. Ruth 4 Kids partnered with Ode2You Photography to give the girls the opportunity to learn about how photography can align parallel with self-esteem. With selfies and social media being so popular today, it’s important that young girls know how to present themselves with confidence and self-esteem at all times.

Marquita and her team, educated our girls about how self-esteem and photography is parallel and how it’s all about how much we value, love and accept ourselves. In addition, Ode2You Photography informed our girls on ways to be creative when capturing photos of themselves, and how you can capture positive photos no matter the camera being used. This workshop granted our girls the opportunity to experiment with three types of cameras, to capture the beauty and share self-esteem and confidence with each other. After using the different types of cameras, we looked at the photos as a group on a projector and highlighted unique things about each photo to show that photography really does align with self-esteem.
