RUTH4Kids SWENext club EmpoHer kicked off our program year with our first ever STEM Hack-a-thon and it was nothing short of AMAZING. Participants created a mobile app (prototype) to help students track their homework and exam grades while making a little profit selling snacks with $30K budget. The members added a chat feature, parent alert system, tutoring, etc. Their logo HoFo, homework and food; was created because every student likes to eat while doing their homework. They used the Engineering Design process to include a project manager to oversee the project and ensure each team fulfilled their task as well as a software developer, web designer, database admin, security engineer and marketing team. The judges were awesome and had lots of great questions for the girls to ponder on.
